About me
Hi, I’m Olya. I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in San Francisco, working with teens, young adults, couples and parents.
My style is warm, conversational, and collaborative. I want therapy to feel like a place where you can be honest, curious, and fully yourself without feeling like you need to perform or have everything figured out before you walk through the door.
I’m interested in helping people understand not only what they are feeling, but also the relationships, experiences, and patterns that have shaped the way they move through the world.
In this space, you can put down the walls that keep you from authenticity and connection.

A significant part of my work has been with children, adolescents, and families in school settings as well as in private practice.
Working inside schools has given me a close-up understanding of the pressures young people are navigating every day, including academics, friendships, family expectations, identity, transitions, and the complicated process of becoming more independent.
That experience also shapes the way I work with parents. I understand that a young person does not exist in isolation, and that family relationships, school environments, peer dynamics, and developmental changes often overlap.
Alongside my work with teens and families, I also work with young adults and couples navigating relationships, communication, identity, transitions, and recurring patterns that can leave people feeling stuck or disconnected.

I believe therapy works best when it feels collaborative, genuine, and tailored to the person or relationship in front of me.
I draw from emotion-focused, relational, narrative, and collaborative approaches, while also incorporating Gottman-informed work with couples and EFFT in parent consultation.
Above all, I aim to create a space that feels warm, curious, and grounded in real connection.

Clients often describe my style as:
Warm
Empathic
Conversational
Collaborative
Curious
Meaning-focused
I am an active therapist. I will ask questions, notice patterns, offer observations, and help you slow down moments that may otherwise happen automatically.
At the same time, I believe you are the expert on your own experience. My role is not to tell you how to live your life, but to help you understand yourself more deeply and make choices that feel intentional and aligned with who you want to be.
Getting Started
Finding a therapist is personal, and fit matters.
A brief consultation gives us a chance to talk about what brings you to therapy, answer any questions you may have, and determine whether working together feels like a good fit.
